MEDFORD, Ore. -- The murder trial began today in the case of a two-year old girl killed from brain trauma after being assaulted.
A year ago tomorrow, Kacy Lunsford died. Kacy Sue Lunsford died at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland after suffering massive damage from brain trauma.
Today, the main suspect in the case was in court. Benjamin James George was the toddler's mother's boyfriend, and is accused of the murder.
Last summer, the Jackson County grand jury indicted George with counts of felony murder, murder by abuse, and assault in the first degree.
