A crash shut down Highway 238 and sent a man to the hospital in a helicopter. Applegate Fire says a single car crashed outside of Jacksonville Hill, just a few miles from their station. It happened around 4:30 between Forest Creek and Cady Road.
There was only one man in the car but officers had to use the jaws of life to get him out. The highway was shut down for about 30 minutes while a Mercy Flights helicopter arrived to take him to the hospital.
There was also a consern over the amount of fluids leaking from the car but there were not any problems. OSP is still investigation the cause of the crash.
