If the SOU Raiders win both their games on the road this weekend they'll clinch at least a share of the Cascade Conference Championship...the first one ever for the school.

Stephanie Carr says, "When I came my freshman year we weren't very good. When we came the team was really split and I felt we had different goals."

Now the goals are the same, not only a conference title, but a berth in the national tournament. Stephanie Carr joined the team in 2009. That year they finished below .500 for the 6th straight season. Since then Carr has lead the team in goals and points.

Jon Clement says, "It's obviously great to have someone so clinical in her finishes. She scores a variety of ways."
Stacy Hamer says, "She can score when she's out in front of the goal she can score from 30 yards out it doesn't matter where she is she can get the job done.

Her playing style allows the entire offense to play more freely and take more chances.

Jon Clement says, "It certainly means we're not one dimensional. There's a variety of ways to try and break down the defense and with steph and our other components firing away its always helpful."
Firing away is the key phrase here. That's why carr has emerged as such a goal scorer.
Stephanie carr says, "Normally I'll turn and then pass and then jog around and if it gets back to me then I'll shoot it. But now it's like when I get the ball...go to the goal. I'm not trying to be selfish now I just have a bigger expectation for myself."
if they get the results they want this weekend....i don't think anyone will be complaining.
