EUGENE, Ore. --- Chip Kelly won't confirm it, but Darron Thomas reiterated on Wednesday that he is Oregon's starter.
Thomas has been in the middle of a mini-quarterback controversy after getting replaced at halftime of the Washington State game by Bryan Bennett. Afterwards, Chip Kelly wouldn't commit to a starter for this Saturday's game at Washington.
On Wednesday, Thomas said that he's surprised and amused by the speculation that the redshirt freshman Bennett might replace him as Oregon's starter.
Last Saturday, Thomas said that he would win his job back, if he needs to. But on Wednesday, he said that there hasn't been a quarterback battle in practice this week.
